Cent Trading Account
Trade live markets at a hundredth of the usual position size. Your balance is held in cents, so a small deposit goes further and every mistake costs proportionately less. Same MT5 server, same liquidity, same leverage as our other accounts.
Open Cent Account NowWhat is a Cent Account?
A cent account is a live trading account whose balance is denominated in cents rather than dollars. Deposit ten dollars and your MT5 terminal shows a balance of 1,000. Contract sizes shrink by the same factor, so one lot on a cent account represents 1,000 units instead of the standard 100,000.
Everything else is identical to a standard account. Orders route to the same liquidity providers on the same server, spreads widen and tighten with the real market, swaps apply as normal, and weekend gaps hit you exactly as they would on any other account. It is real money and a real market — only the scale is different.
That makes it a practical middle ground between a demo account, where perfect fills teach you nothing about slippage, and a fully funded account, where a sizing error is expensive. At Absel Markets you can open one from USD 10.
How to open a cent account in 3 simple steps:
- Register and verify your identity by submitting the required documentation.
- Fund your account with a minimum of USD 10 using any of our deposit methods.
- Select the cent account type. Your MT5 login and password are issued once the account is approved.
How your balance works
Your deposit is converted into cents at a fixed rate of 100 cents to the dollar. The conversion is one-directional in appearance only — when you withdraw, the balance converts back at exactly the same rate. Profit and loss is settled in USD.
Because both your balance and your position sizes are scaled by the same factor, your percentage returns are identical to what they would be on a standard account. A strategy that returns 4% in a month returns 4% here too — the absolute figures are just a hundred times smaller.
Advantages of a Cent Account
The value of a cent account is not that it is cheap. It is that it lets you make the mistakes every trader makes at a scale where they teach you something instead of ending your account.
Minimum trade size
Position sizing becomes granular enough to risk a sensible percentage of a small balance, rather than being forced into oversized trades.
Full leverage
The same maximum leverage available on our Standard and ECN accounts, across every instrument we offer.
Real market conditions
Genuine spreads, genuine slippage and genuine execution latency. Demo accounts hide all three.
Same platform
The same terminal, the same charts and the same expert advisor files you would run on any other account.
Testing a strategy or expert advisor live
Backtests and demo accounts share a common weakness: they assume your order gets filled at the price you asked for. Live markets do not work that way. Spreads widen around news, liquidity thins at the session rollover, and a strategy that looks profitable in the strategy tester can lose money the moment real execution is involved.
A cent account closes that gap. Run the same expert advisor file you intend to deploy, on the same server, against the same order book — at a hundredth of the exposure. If the edge survives a month of live fills at cent scale, it is far more likely to survive at standard scale.
Because leverage, minimum lot size and the platform itself are unchanged, no part of your strategy needs rewriting when you move up. Only the account number changes.
Moving to a Standard or ECN account
There is no fixed period you must spend on a cent account. When your position sizing is consistent and your strategy has held up across a few different market conditions, you can open a Standard or ECN account from within the client portal and fund it directly.
Cent, Standard and ECN accounts can be held at the same time under one client profile, so you can keep testing new ideas at cent scale while trading your established strategy at full size. Funds move between your accounts through the client portal without a new application.
If you are unsure which tier suits you, our support team can walk through the differences with you before you commit.
