Absel Markets is required to gather information and verify the identity of all clients in accordance with applicable anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CFT), and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations under the Financial Intelligence and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2002 (FIAMLA) and FSC requirements.

The personal information we collect may include:

  • Full legal name, date of birth, and nationality
  • Residential address and contact details (email, telephone)
  • Government-issued photo identification and proof of address documents
  • Financial information including annual income, net worth, and source of funds
  • Employment and occupational details
  • Trading experience and financial knowledge assessments
  • Transaction history, account activity, and trading records

We may also automatically collect certain technical data when you visit our website, including your IP address, device type, browser type, general geographic location, and pages visited. This information is used to improve the functionality of our website and for internal analytics purposes.

While we take every reasonable precaution to protect your data, no method of internet transmission can be guaranteed as completely secure. Clients are responsible for maintaining the security of their own account credentials. Absel Markets will never request your password by email or telephone.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law and regulation. Client account data and transaction records are retained for a minimum of five years following account closure in compliance with our AML record-keeping obligations under FIAMLA 2002 and FSC requirements.

Upon expiry of the applicable retention period, your personal data will be securely deleted or anonymised in accordance with our internal data disposal procedures.

8. Marketing Communications

With your consent, Absel Markets may contact you by email, SMS, push notification, or in-app message about products, services, promotions, and market developments that may be of interest to you. We will never share your contact details with third-party advertisers.

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by updating your notification preferences in the Absel Markets client portal under Settings > Notification Preferences. Changes to your preferences will be processed as soon as reasonably practicable.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Absel Markets may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business operations, legal obligations, or regulatory requirements. When material changes are made, we will notify you by email and post a notice on our website. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of the Policy.
